| Abstract | This article discusses that the current system of pretending to teach other subjects in English does not help improve the general English language standard of Hong Kong students. It does not provide students with a reason for improving their English and probably makes the situation worse by showing students that English proficiency is a problem to be got round rather than a difficulty which needs to be tackled head on and conquered by enthusiastic and dedicated study. |
