Article TitlePreparing a Western literary feast for Chinese students requires an appreciation for a different literary palate / Daniel Francis Downes.

AbstractWhen preparing a Western literary diet for Chinese student consumption, the preparer should be aware of traditional tastes, cultivated norms and honored habits which have conditioned the Chinese literary palate. Indeed, the Western pedantic chef should have sampled as much as possible not only of his guests' literary sauces and seasonings, but also of those entrees which most frequently appear on the menu.
