| Abstract | One of the aims of the School Management Initiative (SMI) is to encourage every teacher to actively participate in the programme and to work out collaborately a definite objective and plan so that new measures can be promoted and their effectiveness be assessed and improvement be continuously made. More opportunities must be provided for teachers to understand problems, exchange views, discuss strategies and contact new theories, if more participation of teachers is expected and team spirit is to be built. Therefore, school-based teacher development is very important. Detailed explanation is given in this article. |
