AbstractIt is the purpose of this article to review briefly the different perspectives on curriculum of the subject Integrated Science (IS) and to examine to what extent these different perspectives may help to expain how the subject matter of IS emerged and became institutionalized in the school curriculum in Hong Kong. Some current issues and possible future developments of the subject will also be discussed.
