| Abstract | Streptococcus pneumoniae is the most common cause of community acquired pneumonia. However, the gradual emergence of multi-resistant Streptococcus pneumoniae in Hong Kong poses a serious problem on the choice of antibiotics for treatment. Vaccination, however, is an effective way to prevent invasive pneumococcal infections. |
