| Abstract | Both the need for land and the desire to preserve the beauty of Victoria harbour must be taken into consideration when planning the Hong Kong of the future. The article criticizes the Harbour Reclamation Ordinance enacted in June 1997, predicts the increase in traffic with the opening of the new Hong Kong International Airport at Chek Lap Kok in July 1998 and features the environmental problems as a consequence of the reclamation policy. |
