| Abstract | Professor Joseph Sung of the Department of Medicine and Therapeutics, together with Professor Sydney Chung of the Department of Surgery and Professor Augustine Cheng of the Department of Microbiology of the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) undertook a study to examine the effects of treating Helicobacter pylori (HP) infection on the healing and recurrence of peptic ulcers. Their research received a grant of HK$386,000 from the Research Grants Council (RGC) in 1993. The article features the background, methodology and results of the study. |
