| Abstract | There is now reason to believe that Helicobacter pylori plays a causal role in the majority of duodenal uclers. The infection, nevertheless, is a necessary but insufficient requirement for duodenal ulceration. Eradication of Helicobacter pylori largely precludes ulcer relapse and is a feasible as well as worthwhile therapeutic option. |
