| Abstract | This article comments on the Diaoyu islands dispute and China's economic and political development. According to the author, the West and the Japanese imperialistic regime were hoping that demonstrations inside China over the Diaoyus would lead to other protests against the government and possibly create a large-scale riot. They are also planning to provoke Beijing into an armed clash or confrontation with Japan, thus giving them an excuse to use sanctions against China. |
