| Abstract | The problems of Hong Kong's media came to a head when Sudden Weekly made up a report on Dickson Poon, the president of Dickson Concept, saying that he was suffering from cancer. All kinds of false reporting appeared recently, especially with the spread of tabloid weeklies' coverage of politics. Much of this amounts to libel, and it is said that it will take years to clear all the cases under indictment. And the situation is worsening. The author believes that the news media should exert self restraint, no matter when or where. |
