| Abstract | Through China's conflicts with the Soviet Union twenty-seven years ago, the current Sino-Japanese relation over the Diaoyus issue is analysed. The author comments on the attitudes of Japanese leaders and society towards the disputed islands. And also, the United States' (US) involvement in the conflict by signing the new US-Japan Security Treaty in April 1996 are also examined. |
