| Abstract | The Hong Kong Shippers' Council organised a visit to five ports in Xiamen on 15-18 January 1997. The ports visited were Xiang Yue, Haicang, Xiamen Container Port, Hai Tian and Zhang Zhou. The timely trip came just a week before the announcement that the ban on direct maritime and transport links between Taiwan and China was to be finally lifted after over 40 years. |
