| Abstract | The decade of the 1990s is seeing the rapid evolution of China's fixed satellite communication system from analog to digital technology. By the year 2000 the capacity of the China national satcom network and the number of transponders occupied are expected to increase by four times to eight times the current level. With the purpose of bringing the technical-economic benefits of the satcom system into full play some tentative ideas concerning the development and application of new technologies in China's satcom network are put forward in this article, which are based on the new technologies and equipment deployed in other parts of the world. |
