| Abstract | Conference television is a newly developed communications method which helps people to hold meetings by using advanced television technology. It can significantly save time and cost-consuming travel, and raise the efficiency of meetings. For these reasons, the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications (MPT) in China called for the building of a nationwide conference television network in January 1993. By early 1995 a backbone network which connects 29 cities at the provincial level with Beijing, the capital of China, had been established. Some China-made conference television systems are introduced in this article. |
