| Abstract | Construction of the Golden Card project in Shanghai has made smooth progress. According to sources of the Shanghai Branch of the People's Bank of China, as of the end of May 1996, 526 ATMs (automated teller machines), or 98.97% of the total in the city, have been connected to the computer network. The original target of inter-connecting all the ATMs in the city by the end of 1996 is expected to be achieved one half year ahead of schedule. |
