| Abstract | New telecom services in China have witnessed fast growth. Latest statistics show that as of the end of August 1996 the total number of subscribers to new telecom services including mobile communications, data communications and international communications services had reached 25,293,737, amounting to 65% of the total number of local telephone subscribers in the whole country. If the 22,797,621 radio paging subscribers and other value-added service subscribers were taken into account, the total number of new telecom service subscribers far exceeded the number of subscribers to traditional local telephone service. |
