| Abstract | Multimedia is the digital convergence of audio and video signals. It supports communication through different means in addition to the traditional text-based user interface of a computer. According to Danny Poon, Senior Consultant of Hong Kong Productivity Council, multimedia technolgy was introduced in Hong Kong in the early 90's, and has entered a period of rapid development since 1995. Nowadays, multimedia is among the most dynamic growth industries in Hong Kong and world-wide. Applicable to whatever people can imagine, it is likely to revolutionize their daily lives by changing the means of communication and the way they go about their banking, shopping, education, entertainment and office work. |
