| Abstract | This article introduces the book Emigration from Hong Kong: Tendencies and Impacts by Ronald Skeldon. The book is divided into two main parts. The first provides the historical background to emigration from Hong Kong, from the founding of the colony to the mid-90s. The second, which is the main part of this book, presents and interprets the results of a massive survey, carried out throughout the territory in 1991, on the attitude of Hong Kong people towards the idea of emigrating before and after 1997. |
