AbstractAt the invitation of the School Management Initiative (SMI) Section, Mr Bill Clark, Deputy Director in charge of the Audit Unit of the Scottish Office Education Department, gave a talk on "Performance Indicator for School Self-Evaluation" for Phase 1 to 3 SMI school heads and teachers on 17 February 1995. Mr Clark introduced two different sets of performance indicators, one for secondary and the other for primary schools, which were developed by the Scottish Office Education Department. He explained how those indicators could be used for school self-evaluation and for supporting schools to improve the quality of education delivered to students. This article is a summary of the talk.
