| Abstract | Major contemporary approaches to translation studies now being applied and tested in widely divergent countries are quietly transforming this long established profession. A majority of Western researches into translation is based on comparative studies about the English language and its close cousins. It must be aware of the limitations of Western theory resulting from certain cultural, linguistic, and philosophical distances when apply it to Chinese practice. |
