| Abstract | Hong Kong was the venue in September 1996 for the formation of the new Association of Maritime Education & Training Institutions in Asia Pacific (AMETIAP). The inaugural meeting held at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University was attended by representatives of 18 maritime education and training institutions from 10 countries. The association is established 'to promote, develop and support the common interests of its member institutions in all matters concerning the development and quality of maritime education.' |
