| Abstract | Hong Kong is one of the few places with a long history of providing methadone maintenance on a large scale to opiate abusers. The Methadone Programme complements other treatment and rehabilitation services by providing a readily accessible source of help for drug abusers who come forward. The author hopes that the community will continue to render understanding, support and acceptance for the programme and the patients. |
