| Abstract | Survival of the Hong Kong population of the Chinese White Dolphin (Sousa chinensis), thought to number less than 100, is severely threatened. A sanctuary for the dolphins, first proposed by dolphin researchers at the Swire institute of Marine Science, was adopted as a mitigation measure by the Airport Authority when seeking endorsement of an aviation fuel receiving facility which would be sited in the middle of the dolphin's habitat. |
