| Abstract | Going on domestic flights to Beijing will be more difficult in 1996 - and it's all thanks to China's airport modernization programme, ironically enough. One of Beijing Capital Airport's two runways will be closed for upgrading and resurfacing from 1 April to 30 June 1996, Civil Aviation Administration of China officials say. That means the airport will not be able to accommodate nearly as many flights as it normally does. Some domestic flights will end their Beijing-bound runs in Tianjin or Shijiazhuang instead. In all, 375 flights are to be re-routed each week. |
