Abstract | Hongkong is in danger of losing one of its longest residents. The Chinese White Dolphin was first recorded in western literature in the early seventeenth century. Today their numbers are dwindling, with their demise being hastened by a series of contributing factors, most notably the building of the new airport at Chep Lap Kok. There is no trade in these animals, but man's rapacity for progress is wiping them out. |
