AbstractToday's property values in the territory defy logic and gravity. Efforts to curb run-away prices through tightening bank mortgage lending have scarcely helped to correct the problem. The government's own plans to curb speculation are still in the making. For the average wage earner, affordability ratios were breached a long, long time ago, and costs are not likely to climb down in the foreseeable future.
