AbstractTextile manufacturers are being advised to import more labour, set up a special industrial zone and improve links with China if they want to avoid falling victim to a series of problems confronting the industry. A report, by consultants Kurt Salmon Associates, highlighted four sets of threats to Hong Kong's largest industry and made 12 recommendations for how Hong Kong could remain the biggest supplier of garments in the world and the second-biggest suppliers of textiles.
