| Abstract | The tremendous growth of the information and technology (IT) and Telecoms sectors across the Asia-Pacific region is creating new demand and charting new trends for the real estate industry. The IT revolution which is currently sweeping most of the region has been aided by the explosive growth in the number of internet users. Recently compiled industry figures show that Australia, Singapore, South Korea, Japan, New Zealand and Hong Kong are ahead in terms of internet-use penetration. In terms of number of users, Japan leads with over 16 million subscribers. The article features the IT and telecoms explosion in Asia-Pacific region as at July 2000 and its impact on real estate sector. |
