Abstract | With the ever-increasing frequency of international travel, health providers have rightly concerned themselves with the pre-travel health preparations, preventive measures of travel-related diseases and medical approach to illnesses in the returned travellers. Pregnant travellers are well advised on travel issues including the suitability to travel, immunization, motion sickness and the effects of high altitude on the fetus. However, the management of unexpected emergencies resulting from early pregnancy complications such as miscarriage (abortion) and ectopic pregnancy while on board an airplane have scarcely been discussed. |
