Abstract | A 35-year-old female patient presented with three month history of progressive dyspnoea. Physical findings and lung function test results suggested a restrictive lung disease. Physical signs including fish-mouth facies, pointed finger tips and a vasculitic rash, and serological findings including positive anti-nuclear antibodies at high titre, positive rheumatoid factor, negative anti-double-stranded DNA, borderline anti-Ro antibodies as well as positive anti-centromere antibodies, supported a connective tissue disease such as systemic sclerosis. The article describes the role of the family physician in her care. |
