AbstractAlmost 750,000 people risk living in sub-standard urban area flats which will be over 30 years old by the year 2006 and Hong Kong faces a genuine, large-scale and urgent urban renewal problem, the Chief Executive of the Land Development Corporation (LDC), Mr Abraham Razack, told the Territorial Development Conference on 9 October 1997. To address the problem, we need an urban renewal process that is efficient and equitable, according to Mr Razack.
