| Abstract | Xinjiang province bordering Russia is to slash internal taxes on cotton to make it more competitive. Wang Xiu-song, head of the Association of Supply and Marketing Cooperatives, said the move was aimed at "encouraging production". The Association is the body that administers the cotton industry in the Shihezi, Xinjiang, a major cotton producing as well as processing base. |
