| Abstract | As the population of Hong Kong ages, there is an ever-increasing number of people suffering from dementia. The article emphasises the role of Family Physicians (FPs) in the current management of dementia, including making accurate diagnosis, prescribing drug treatment for cognitive symptoms and co-existing medical illnesses, and appropriate referral to specialist and local community resources whenever necessary. Lists of memory clinic, psychogeriatric services and local community resources available in Hong Kong are introduced for reference. |
