| Abstract | Further evidence of a tightening in the supply and demand balance for cotton, say Cotton Incorporated, was provided in the March 1997 report of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). A reduction in both world and US ending stocks is apparent. The gains in world consumption have been led by China, where the USDA increases its forecast for consumption by 300,000 bales. |
