| Abstract | The Shanghai Infoport is a project to make the city of Shanghai to meet the requirement as a center of economic, financial and trading activities, as that will have to be supported by advanced technological, transportation and information facilities. The posts & telecoms (P&T) department of Shanghai has made much positive effort in the planning of such a project, and under the leadership of the city government, will take up the leading role in the construction of the project so as to make Shanghai the center of economic activities with the indispensable information facilities as a primal factor. The article talks about the substance and aim of the Infoport, the role of the P&T department and the construction of the Infoport project. |
