AbstractScarcity and fear of scarcity continue to characterise the world cotton market, as said by the Washington-based International Cotton Advisory Committee. However most of the gain in world supply is in China, whose net imports apparently will nearly equal the excess of world production over consumption in 1995-96. This article reviews the world cotton production and consumption in 1992-95 and forcasts that in 1995-96.
