| Abstract | Food poisoning caused by pesticide-tainted vegetables from China has been an important public health issue and created much public concern over the past decade. In order to strengthen the import control, a temporary food control office was set up at Man Kam To checkpoint in June 1988. With the support of the two Municipal Councils, the construction of the permanent office was started in early 1995 and completed in February 1996. This article introduces the inspection work of the Office. |
