AbstractThe warm and humid weather in Hong Kong is very favourable for the transmission of malaria. Malaria importation cannot be prevented in an international city like Hong Kong with a very large number of visitors. An efficient health service and effective vector control are therefore essential for the continual protection of the community against the disease. In Hong Kong, vector control measures are undertaken by the two municipal services departments with the professional guidance from the Pest Control Advisory Section of the Department of Health.
