| Abstract | More and more foreign investors in China are doing mergers and acquisitions instead of joint ventures. While there is room for restructuring, buying into a state-owned company in China often means buying into responsibilities of the state. And while legally owning more than 50 per cent of a company does not necessarily give outsiders more than 50 per cent of the say in management decisions, the idea of shares or certificates tend to give more comfort. |
