| Abstract | In 1996, total exports of jewellery recorded only a marginal growth of 1%. Exports of precious jewellery, which constituted 72% of the total exports of jewellery, registered a 5% increase. The overall future of the jewellery industry looks bright for 1997. A 10% increase in total exports is expected, with robust sales to both the US and EU. |
