| Abstract | This study is concerned with the analysis of information collected in a survey to study the industrial buying behaviour of weaving machine purchasers in Hong Kong and China and from a computer programme developed to support decision making in the selection of weaving machines for denim and silk weaving. First, all the criteria to be considered in the selection of weaving machines are introduced and discussed. Then the selection criteria is ranked according to the degree of importance based on the opinion of the weaving machine buyers. Further a product specific (silk/denim) criteria ranking is carried out. Finally, a decision support computer programme is introduced which is based on suitable score schemes designed for product oriented and common selection criteria. |
