In Hong Kong, although very much home to an elite circle, horse owners nevertheless frequently pay less for their bloodstock than they do for a car. As an investment, however, the rewards can, if you are very lucky, prove extremely handsome. According to Alfred Chow, the Jockey Club's racing secretary, the prerequisites for owning a racehorse here are that people have to be member of the Jockey Club for more than a year and a resident in Hong Kong.
