| Abstract | It is forecasted that there will still be significant growth of the network in Shanghai in the period of the 9th Five-Year Plan (FYP), which begins with the year 1996, and the total exchange capacity of the network may reach 5 to 6 million lines by 2000. The SPC exchanges in Shanghai have proved to be very effective in meeting the communications requirements in the past years, but in looking forward to the continued development of communications in the time of the 9th FYP, it seems that there are a number of new technical requirements to be met by the SPC exchange systems, and this article presents various views in regard to such aspects. |
