| Abstract | In the Eighth Five-Year Plan period (1991-1995), telecommunications in Jiangsu province had witnessed sustained high-speed development. In 1996, a long haul transmission network based on optic-fiber cable and supplemented by digital microwave system has been established in the province. Program-controlled switching equipment has been made available to all cities above county level. Mobile communications networks have covered the whole province. Radio paging networks have been inter-connected province-wide. |
