| Abstract | Capable of meeting the information need of the public at the present stage, Beijing's long haul International Direct Dial (IDD) service can reach 210 countries and regions. In 1990, international calls were transmitted solely by satellite. In 1996, land optic-fiber cable, undersea optic-fiber cable and satellite are used. Seven sets of international satellite antennae, China-Japan, China-Republic of Korea underseas cables as well as criss-cross land optic-fiber cables constitute a multi-dimensional telecom network in Beijing to handle international service. |
