| Abstract | China's first 10,000-line SPC exchange was put into operation on 27 November 1982 in Fuzhou, provincial capital of Fujian. The target set by the MPT to make SPC equipment available to all major cities and prefectures in the country by the end of the Eighth Five-Year Plan period (1991-1995) was achieved. After all major cities and prefectures in the country have access to SPC switching equipment, the MPT is stepping up efforts to make locally developed equipment available to all cities above county level. This target is expected to be achieved in the Ninth Five-Year Plan period. |
