| Abstract | In order to explore the views of teachers and principals on the performance appraisal system and to enable them to share their experience among themselves, teachers and principals from various schools are invited to participate in a symposium held on 23rd Setpember 1994 in the Methodist College. The topics discussed include: the need for a school to have a performance appraisal system, the emphases and orientation of a performance appraisal system, methods of implementing a performance appraisal system, the difficulties encountered in implementing a performance appraisal system and their solutions, and the relationship between the implementation of a formal appraisal system for teaching/non-teaching staff and the improvement in school management as well as in the effectiveness of education. |
