| Abstract | There are 14 Hong Kong compaines that have been listed on the Nasdaq Stock Market in the US, with two more to come by the end of in 1996 and others on the pipeline for listing in the next 12 months. According to Patrick Sutch, Nasdaq's business development director for Asia/Pacific, there has been a sharp increase in interest from Hong Kong companies from mid 1994 to 1996 who are looking for alternative sources of raising capital. Two Hong Kong companies to be listed later in 1996 include Highway Holdings (with US$7.5 million market capitalisation) and one other with market capitalisation of US$250 million, which is also listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. |
