| Abstract | Hong Kong Institute of Architects (HKIA) Presidential Candidates Dr Tao Ho and Mr Henry King-Chiu Lau set a precedent in October 1996 by participating in a head-to-head forum to introduce HKIA members to their vision for 1997. The forum was the initiative of the Young Architects League (YAL), whose objective of supporting young architects and promoting the betterment of architecture has resulted in various events including the current architectural competition to design a monument commemorating the 1997 transition. |
