Abstract | Finance officers give the view from inside Hong Kong's listed companies of the Hong Kong Society of Accountants recommendations on corporate governance. The Chief Financial Officers (CFOs) of Hong Kong's listed companies are in many ways ideally placed to estimate the costs and benefits of the Hong Kong Society of Accountants' (the Society) corporate governance recommendations. The recommendations, published in the preliminary report of the Society's first Working Group on Corporate Governance (the Working Group) in December 1995, are still under consultation. The second Working Group, convened earlier in 1996, aims to publish a second report incorporating some of the feedback already received. |
